If you are interested in learning more about wine, and how the humble grape can produce a drink with such diversity of aroma, flavour and enjoyment, then the Lincoln Wine Society might be a good place to begin. Wine drinking or appreciation can have a fusty reputation where people try to bamboozle others with bizarre descriptions of the wine they are smelling and drinking.
We are not like that!
Of course we are interested aroma, the acidity and fruit balance in wine. We are interested in the mouthfeel of the wine and teh ground and climate in which the grapes grew. We want to know more about what happens in the winery to create this wonderful drink. But, we try to do this in a friendly, fun and welcoming space for all who have a varying interest in wine.

We meet each month, usually on the third Thursday,
at Lincoln Bishop University on Longdales Road, Lincoln.
The usual format for our evening is to serve a ‘welcome wine’ from 7.30pm, allowing some time to socialise before the speaker’s presentation starts at 7:45pm.
Monthly tastings are themed, for example a tasting might focus on a specific region or grape variety.
The talks are generally a mixture of information, speaker’s anecdotes, and questions and answers
– the atmosphere is relaxed and social.
